This needle felted, vase stem piece has been inspired by the beautiful poppy seed heads in my garden this year. Little Arthur mouse who has scampered up the stems to take a nibble, has been needle felted using various British wools. He is approximately 13cm in height from his tiny ears to his little toes. Arthur wears a snug, hand knitted, rusty coloured scarf which has been fixed with a tiny ochre hand stitched oak leaf. The poppy seed heads are wired and have been needle felted then stitched into for added texture and colour. The whole piece is approximately 36cm in length. The leaves have been hand coloured and sewn into and they create a skirt of wired leaves that hold the branch stem upright and in place comfortably in a bottle neck vase or a vase with a narrow neck. There is a Wild & Wool fabric label attached.
