This needle felted wool sculpture was inspired by one of my favourite birds, the tiny Jenny wren and a favourite spring flower, fritillaries. The little Jenny wren has been needle felted and stitched into with embroidery threads. She is life size at approximately 9cm in length. The wren is perched on a vintage and aged terracotta plant pot. within the pot are handmade wool felt and painted fritillaries. The stems are wired and covered with green embroidery threads. The ivy leaves have also been hand coloured and stitched into and within the pot lies a needle felted pebble which has also been sewn into to give the feel of moss and lichen coverring it. Resting on one of the fritillary flowers is a tiny needle felted, sleepy bumble bee. The wool piece stands at approximately 30cm in height and 20cm wide. There is a Wild & Wool fabric label attached to an ivy leaf at the back.

Sorry this wool sculpture is not a toy and unsuitable for children under 12, due to possible choking hazards.
