Marley mole has tunnelled his way above ground to see his friend Silvia snail. He finds that Summer is leaving us and Autumn fast approaching. There is a golden carpet of leaves all around them.
 
This wool sculpture is approximately 14cm in height and 19cm wide from the tip of Marley's tail to the end of Silvia's stalk tentacles. Marley mole has been needle felted firmly for longevity and sewn into for added texture. His eyes are black glass and he wears a pair of gold rimmed spectacles on his nose. Wrapped elegantly round his neck is muted gold, velvet ribbon scarf which is finished with a tiny wired oak leaf and needle felted acorn. There is a small wooden star button sewn into the ribbon also. Silvia snail has been needle felted then stitched into with many embroidered stitches on her shell. She wears a jaunty pink silk scarf around her neck. Silvia snail is clasped in Marley's hands but is not attached to him, so can be lifted out and placed by his side. There is an Oak leaf branch that also comes with this piece for an added feel of Autumn to set the scene beside Marley & Silvia. The wool felt leaves have been sewn into and wired
to make them posable and adorned with three needle felted acorns. There is a wild & wool fabric label sewn into the piece.
 
Sorry this wool sculpture is not a toy and unsuitable for children under 12, due to possible choking hazards.
