This needle felted wool sculpture was inspired by the bounty of wild strawberries I have had growing in my garden this year. I can imagine the tiny mice have been enjoying the strawberries too. Mulberry mouse has been needle felted using British wool and sports a burnt orange silk scarf. He is approximately 10cm in height. The mouse is perched on a vintage and aged terracotta plant pot. Within the pot are needle felted and stitched strawberry stems and flowers. All the stems including the hand coloured and stitched strawberry leaves and ivy leaves are wired and posable. Lying on the brown wool soil inside the pot is a wet felted pebble which has also been sewn into to give the feel of moss and lichen covering it. The wool piece stands at approximately 20cm in height by 20cm wide. There is a Wild & Wool fabric label attached to an ivy leaf at the back.
