'Snug beneath the poppies' ... is a piece that celebrates the Summer garden and the joy of the vibrant poppies and their beautiful, structural seed pods. A little sleeping hedgehog curled up in a bed of fallen oak leaves under the poppies is the creature focus in this vintage, hand thrown terracotta pot piece. The hedgehog has been needle felted firmly for longevity and covered in hedgehog mohair fabric. He is approximately 12cm in length and 8cm wide. I have left him loose so he can be gently picked out of the pot and posed as you wish. Within the pot are handmade and hand stitched poppy seed heads and a feature flower which has been hand coloured. The flowers and leaves are wired and posable. There are hand coloured and stitched ivy leaves draping over the edge of the pot alongside some tiny handmade wild strawberries. Lying within the pot is a wet felted pebble which has been sewn into to give the feeling of moss and lichen covering it. Lying on one poppy petal is a tiny handmade ladybird and crawling up the pot is a needle felted handmade snail. The wool sculpture stands at approximately 39cm in height and 22cm wide. The pot is approximately 14cm in height. There is a Wild & Wool fabric label attached to an ivy leaf at the back of the pot. This piece needs to be handled with care due to it's delicate nature.

Sorry this wool sculpture is not a toy and unsuitable for children under 12, due to possible choking hazards.
