As the seasons change from Summer to Autumn, as do my character ideas and colour palette. Hadley hedgehog is tending to his Autumn garden and harvesting his prized pumpkin. His tiny wooden wheelbarrow has been hand painted and aged. Within it lies a needle felted pumpkin lying on a rustic gingham cloth. Nestled beside the pumpkin is a tiny terracotta pot with a handmade oak tree sapling. There is also a miniature wicker basket filled with gardening string and a tiny trowel. A metal rake pokes out the front of the barrow. Hadley hedgehog has been needle felted using British wool and mohair prickle fabric. He stands at approximately 15cm in height. He holds a wooden, rusted metal spade in his hand. Wrapped casually round his neck is a faded green silk scarf tied with a tiny wool felt oak leaf. His tweed trousers have been needle felted and then stitched into to give colour and texture. Hadley has black glass eyes. His arms and legs are wired to make him posable. There is a Wild & Wool fabric label attached to this piece.
